I wasn't really sure where to start, or who to start with. All I knew was that I wanted something more than a point and shoot, and that I've always had an eye out for those digital SLRs. Debated a couple of days, and then somehow found myself holding a Nikon D5000. Haven't looked back since.
I took the camera out the next day, after letting it charge the night before, and decided to do a little research on what all the features meant. My fiancee agreed to let me take some practice shots and see how all this felt. I think she liked seeing me pretend to know what I'm doing.
